A Bit of Carmel Resort Inn Cottages History

Carmel Resort Inn Cottages is a unique and truly affordable B&B offering a collection of old fashioned "artists" cottages once belonging to individual land owners. Over the years, spanning many decades, the original owner (above left) of Carmel Cottages Court (Now CRI) bought his surrounding neighbors cottages as they came up for sale, amassing a collection of 31 units spanning 1.5 forested acres. On the right, Bing Crosby enjoys conversation and a cup of coffee with guests of the resort on the original Carmel Resort Inn Cottages patio still in use today!

Some as old as 100 years, each of these hand crafted cottages are unique,, with different floor plans and early 1900's construction. Much like staying in a "cabin on the lake" our cottages are rustic, cozy, basic and clean! It's all a part of the original Carmel charm that makes CRI and the village of Carmel by-the-sea a popular place for visitors from around the world! On site gardens, patios, and waterfall pond's provide you with the option of eating breakfast in bed or on the patio in the morning sun.

Carmel Resort Inn Cottages is a family and pet friendly facility. Enjoy one of our many outdoor patio areas and BBQ pit's for gathering with friends and family, and our popular bonfire pit for staying warm on a starry night! A dedicated pet area is provided for our furry four legged friends and a fully stocked fish pond to enjoy for personal reflection.
